Glacier and Mount Revelstoke national parks welcome thousands of Canadian and international visitors each year – travellers who are eager to take home meaningful mementos that reflect the spirit, culture, and natural beauty of these regions.
They are currently seeking to expand our retail offerings by partnering with Indigenous artisans whose work reflects a connection to the land, wildlife, and stories of this area. We are especially interested in small, non-breakable items that are easy to pack and travel with – such as decals, patches, lapel pins, hats, and books. These items typically retail between $7 and $50.
Our retail spaces are compact, with most products displayed on slatwall hooks and a small amount of shelf space for books. We are open to creative suggestions and would love to hear your ideas for items that align with these preferences.
They’ve recently opened a new gift shop and visitor centre – Balsam Outpost – at the summit of Mount Revelstoke. Its theme is Bears, Birds & Buds (flowers), and we’re especially interested in collaborating with an artist to create imagery of the four chickadee species found in the “Land of the Chickadee.”
They aim to create a warm, respectful, and welcoming space for collaboration. Please feel welcome to pass this message along to any artists within your community who may be interested in discussing this opportunity.
If you’re interested in exploring this opportunity, please reach out to our Retail Coordinator, Shannon Gibson, at Shannon.Gibson@pc.gc.ca. We’re excited to connect and learn more about your work.
